Why: Conor's voice makes me wanna stop the world and just listen to what he has to say, and in this album everything he said was deep, tragic, real and most importantly beautiful. We all have that one person we think about whenever we listen to "The First Day Of My Life" or "Lua" and I think that things like that can make an album great, the association with a good/strong period of the listeners life. I think everyone can find themselves amidsts Conor's lyrics.
¿Por qué? : Conor tiene una voz que me obliga a detener a el mundo para prestar atención a lo que dice, y todo lo que dijo en este álbum fue profundo, romántico, deprimente y sobretodo hermoso. Todos tenemos a esa persona en la que pensamos automáticamente a el escuchar "Lua" o "The First Day Of My Life" creo que la agilidad de asociar una canción con periodos importantes en la vida de la audiencia hace a un álbum grandioso. En mi opinión, todos podemos encontrarnos entre las letras de Conor.

Why: The lyrics are incredibly obscure, sometimes obscene and always deep. The guitars are loud and great, the percussion is energetic and Brian Molko is amazing.

Why: I was really into White Blood Cells, but this album actually managed to be crazier, angrier, louder and more brilliant. I don't personally find Meg White to be the greatest drummer in the history of Rock and Roll, but I like how her minimalism balances out Jack White's stunning, demented guitar riffs. The first time I heard Seven Nation Army my jaw was on the floor (as it was when I saw them live in 2007)
¿Por que? : Me encanto White Blood Cells, pero este disco consiguió sobrepasar mis expectativas a el ser mas agresivo, mas duro, mas alto y mas brillante que White Blood Cells. Aunque no creo que Meg White sea la mejor baterista de la historia, me gusta como su minimalismo balancea la locura y la distorsión que tanto amo de Jack White. La primera vez que escuche Seven Nation Army me quede con la boca abierta (igual que la primera vez que los vi en el 2007)

¿Por qué? : Este fue el disco que hizo que a las chicas le dejaran de gustar los niños y le empezaran a gustar los hombres. Barbas, humo, fuego, cencerros, mas cencerros, sexo, drogas y rock and roll. Este álbum es todo eso y mucho mas. La banda sonora de una juventud moderna.

Nirvana is probably my favorite band, so naturally I found this album to be a slice of heaven. Rest in peace Kurt Cobain. ¿Por qué? : Nunca olvidare el dia que llegue de el colegio, prendí Mtv y pasaron la premier de “You Know You’re Right” no podía creer que existiera una canción de Nirvana que nunca había escuchado, todos los elementos, la letra, la canción, la distorsión, el video, todo eso combinado cambio mi vida (creo que llore…) Nirvana es probablemente mi banda favorita, así que naturalmente este álbum me pareció un pedazo de cielo. Descansa en paz Kurt Cobain.

Why: This album is fast, furious, insane, paranoid, noisy, distorted, raw, crazy and yet very very cohesive. It's all about the story of Cerpin Taxt, a guy who tries to kill himself by OD'ing on rat poison and morphine (Son et Lumiere) which induces him into a coma (The Inertiatic ESP) in which he has crazy vision of the world, humanity and reality (the rest of the songs after The Intertiatic and before This Apparatus Must Be Unhearted). After seeing all that and waking up from his coma, he is not satisfied with the real world (This Apparatus Must Be Unhearted) and tries to kill himself again by jumping out of the hospital window (Televators) and succeeds (Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt). Need I say more? this album is genius, Cedric Bixler-Zavala is a genius songwriter and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is a guitar virtuoso.
¿Por qué? : Este álbum es rápido, furioso, demente, paranoico, ruidoso, distorsionado, crudo, loco y aun así bastante coherente. Se trata de la historia de Cerpin Taxt, un chamo que trata de matarse después de meterse una sobredosis de veneno para ratas y morfina (Son et Lumiere) el cual lo induce a un coma de una semana (The Inertiatic ESP) en el cual tiene visiones y sueños sobre el mundo, la humanidad y la realidad (el resto de las canciones desde Inertiatic hasta This Aparatus Must Be Unhearted) después de ver todo eso y despertar de su coma, no se sintió satisfecho con el mundo real y decidió una vez mas, intentar suicidarse (This Aparatus Must Be Unhearted) esta vez saltando de la ventana de el hospital (Televators) hasta morir aplastado contra el piso (Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt). ¿Que mas necesito decir? Cedric Bixler-Zavala es un genio de la composición y de la lírica; Omar Rodriguez-Lopez es un genio de la guitarra. The Mars Volta señoras y señores.

Why: This album is the real me, Julian Casablanca's lyrics for this album depict my everyday life in one way or another, one song or another (and this becomes more accurate as I grow older) relationships, friends, family, hangovers, life, substance abuse, great nights, bad nights, last nite and most importantly my (and rock and roll's) obsession with having a good time; it defines my taste in life, my taste in men and my taste in music. The Strokes are the band I've seen live the most. I have a very complex personality, but if you want to ever get to know me, this album is a good place to start.
¿Por qué? : Esta soy yo, las letras de Julian Casablancas en este disco describen un dia en mi vida, de una forma u otra, de una canción u otra (esto mientas mas crezco mas cierto es) relaciones, familia, amigos, resacas, noches buenas, noches malas, anoche, y mas importante aun mi obsesión (y la de el rock and roll) con pasarla bien; define mi gusto por la vida, en hombres y en música. The Strokes son la banda que mas he visto en vivo. Mi personalidad es muy compleja, pero si alguien quisiera comenzar a entenderme, creo que Is This It no seria un mal lugar para empezar.
